- Do you want to use a commercial product to keep your kitchen surfaces clean? Many cleaners have harsh chemicals in them so try using baking bicarb soda instead. A mixture of bicarb soda and water can clean your stainless steel sinks. It doesn’t have an unpleasant odour and bicarb soda is a safe, chemical-free solution to most everyday kitchen cleaning jobs.
- A mixture of bicarb soda and water can be put in your oven. Use gloves and plaster it all over walls and let sit 12 hours. Wipe out, then spray a vinegar and water solution all over oven and wipe out.
- Microwave cleaning: put a bowl of water and a halved lemon (or lemon juice) in the microwave, bring to a boil for 3 to 5 minutes, turn off the microwave and wait a few minutes then wipe the interior clean.
- To clean your blender put some dish soap into the blender and add hot water. Turn on the blender and the soapy water does the work for you. Rinse well after.
- To clean a wooden chopping block sprinkle some salt on the block, add some water and scrub using a half lemon. Rinse to remove the salt.
- Sprinkle some bicarb soda over a glass cooktop and place a hot towel over the baking soda. Turn on the burners for a few minutes to activate the baking soda. Turn it off, wait a few minutes and wipe the surface clean with the towel.
